Do-It-Yourself Lily Munster Halloween Costume
Claws down, Lily Munster was (and still is) our favorite t.v. mom. Who didn’t want to live at 1313 Mockingbird Lane? Not only that, but she was kinda hot – no Bradys for us, thank you! To recreate the look, you’ll need a little skill and originality.
Items you will need:
White gown or dress
Light green make-up (mix with white if the green is too dark)
Black and white wig (or black that you can paint white streaks in)
Strips of black fabric (for dress)
Depending on the gown, you might have to take scissors and make some quick cuts. The neckline is square and cut straight across above your cleavage. Also, make one straight cut to the elbows on each sleeve. Take a black strip and glue it along the edges of your neckline. Take the other strips and either glue them or wrap them around your waist. Apply green make-up to your face, chest and arms. Remember, Lily had very heavy eye make-up and lipstick as well. Put on your Dracula-type necklace and black wig and you’ll look just boo-tiful!
Frightening Fact:
The Munsters debuted on CBS on September 24, 1964 and completed its original prime-time run on September 1, 1966. It was created by the writers of Leave It to Beaver.
