Do-It-Yourself Scarecrow Halloween Costume Instructions
The choices here are good scarecrow (like the Wizard of Oz) or bad scarecrow that wishes to kill and maim. Hmmm…three guesses which version SoCreepy prefers! In any case, this is an easy Halloween costume to make.
Items you will need:
Old clothing (flannel shirt, overalls, etc.)
Hat
Rope
Gloves
Straw
Fake crow
Black grease paint stick
Put on the clothing and stuff your sleeves, pant legs and neckline with straw as if you were made of it. Use the grease paint to mark your nose. If you wish to be sinister, invest in a small make-up kit and paint your face green, gray or brown and use the black to hollow out under your eyes and accentuate your cheekbones. Attach the crow to your shoulder. Put on the gloves and stuff a bit of straw in those, too. Use the rope to tie around your waist, wrists and ankles. To complete and evil look, grab yourself a real pitchfork!
Frightening Fact:
Scarecrows are nothing terribly exciting. They have been around since the 1500s and were devised by farmers to keep birds from destroying crops.
