Posted on youtube is 20 minutes of in-game footage of the upcoming zombie game Dead Island. The trailer was awesome and this footage, most likely a beta test version, shows that the game looks like it’s shaping up to be pretty damn cool. The developers have said they are going for realism. You play as normal people, which means less Resident Evil guns blazing and much more melee type weapons and attacks. You have to find food, money and gear. So it’s not for the “run-n-gun” crowd. More for the RPG types. I’m looking forward to playing it.
Call of the Dead video game – zombie slaughter with Machete, Buffy, Freddie & Henry
Words cannot express how MFing AWESOME this is!!! Call of the Dead is part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation map pack that will be out May 3. (Xbox 360). This game let’s you play as Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker or Robert Englund. It’s the dream team of destruction. I’m horror geek giddy right now.
Mr. Undead himself, George A. Romero, was the inspiration and plays a big part in the actual game. Players start stranded on a boat of zombies in Siberia. The rest of it is all about slaughtering the undead Russians. WIN WIN WIN!! Check it out!
I am a big enough zombie fan that I have been contemplating buying an Xbox so I can play Left 4 Dead 2. Now I may not have to. If you follow video games at all (and don’t live in a cave) I’m sure you’ve heard about the upcoming zombie game Dead Island and the controversy around the trailer posted below. People, especially parents, always seem to get their panties in a bunch when anything horrific or violent in video games involves kids. The Dead Island trailer is no exception. It is a great trailer. On an artistic level it pulls all the right strings and has defiently garnered interest in the game (both for and against). If the game is half as good as the trailer, I’ll be picking up a copy and hopefully not have to buy an damn Xbox.
